Waaaiiiit For It!!

When it comes time to kick someone's ass or exact your revenge on them, it is always said that "they will get what is coming to them. Just Wait!" Although that is a very hard thing to do, when it happens, it brings a smile to this face.

Years ago, I worked for a different supervisor. I told her, I will do any work that you want to give me. One Caveat! I won't do any work for a particular person. "Why?" "Because he's a jerkoff! End of Story" She agreed to that and things went there way for 5-6 years.

Yesterday, someone that I work with showed me this article in the Atlantic City Press.

Guess who?!? See. . .. he is a jerkoff. And now when he goes to jail, he can be someone's sex toy. I have a good idea who he's going to bring down with him too. Annnnd she's a bitch.

The Right Direction

The Flyers jumped in the Free Agency pool early this summer by acquiring and then signing Scott Hartnell (not Josh Hartnell ladies) and Kimmo Timonen. The Timonen pairs up the Timonen brothers (Jussi is on the Phantoms roster currently) and is considered a good first move for rebuilding the franchise that has seen it's worst record in history.

In other words. . . .THEY STINK!!

Now, if they can sign Briere and Gomez, we may have something to cheer about.

Surf's Up!

Just got back!! The Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer is now in Theaters. So, this morning before the Young Toughs got out of school, I took my son and nephew (because they finished up school yesterday) to see the first showing today (because the FIRST showing was at 11:59 last night).

I thought that it was really good. As much as Ghost Rider was okay (which I rented this week), the new FF movie showed that GR lacked something. I would set the gauge by whether you like the first on or not. Of course, the Silver Surfer is in it, but it had the same pace and high action when the action kicks in. I a big fan of the original and a fan of this. The Surfer was well done. Voiced by Morpheus, he sounded cool. . .although he never said "I believe Neo is the One!" Doom was great, but not in it a whole lot. I think Doom was lost on the kids because he wasn't in the armor for most of it (because GOD FORBID the actors didn't show their faces . . .this goes for you too CHIKLAS).

Although short (1:38), I wasn't disappointed.

There is a scene which was briefly in the trailer that . . .I would think would rule out a SKRULL movie. The next one should have the Submariner which could be pretty cool. Although sending them to the Negative Zone to fight Annihilus and Blastaar. That or an all out Frightful Four battle (of course you would have to replace Sandman. . . or would you???)

No Spoilers, but I will say it was the best appearance by Stan Lee.

The redid the Thing a little and gave him a little more brow....well done there (in my best Izzard voice)

Thanks to Alan Davis for the picture above, although when it comes to the FF, I always preferred this one:

Did You Have A Duck In The Pool??

Congratulations to the Anaheim Ducks for Winning the Stanley Cup! The playoffs were very exiting this year. The first year that they are not MIGHTY prooves that they are. Unfortunately, Ottawa seemed to fade during the Finals. As with most years, as I wait for the Draft and Free Agency, I fill the time with reading what players were playing with injuries and what surgeries that are having. Hockey is the most awesome sport ever.

With the Cup in California, it leads me to announce the winning of the Playoff Pool.
This years winning is Paige. Not only did Paige have Anaheim beating Ottawa for the Cup, she had Buffalo and San Jose playing in the Conference Finals. If she would have switched Buffalo and SJ, she would have had a perfect top 4. Not only that. After more than a dozen years (like 15 I think), we have not only our first repeat winner, but a back-to-back winner. Well Done.

Second place goes to Longo. Unlike Paige, I actually know Longo. Longo had Ottawa high and Anaheim in the 13 spot kept him in it until the Finals. Ottawa sweeping the Ducks would have given him the win. This kept it competitive until the end. His down fall, as I always tell everyone was the Detroit Red Wings. They Stink. Oh, and Hasek stinks too. HATE THEM!!

Third place goes to the GIMP. Despite the decline to give him points for Handicapped preference, GIMP pulled out a solid third early on and sat comfy. Had Buffalo advanced, however, he had a real shot at the title.

Finally, the Palys Award goes to Grimjack. . .Well, one of the Grimjacks. Getting as high as 18th in the plethora of pools does not help the pitch to enter more than one pool. I had a serious shot at the Palys Award this year thanks the Keith Tkachuk and the Thrashers, but I couldn't even pull that off this year.

Payment will be sent out soon.

Thanks to everyone who entered. I hope to get the count back up for next year. Keep in mind that if you change your email account, let me know.

Have a GREAT SUMMER everyone. Let's look towards Free Agency and GO FLYERS!!

And Then there Was (Another) One. . .

It appears that another good show is coming to an end. Yes, Battlestar Galactica is closing up shop after the coming season. Of course, the coming season isn't coming until next year.

The fourth and final season of "Galactica" will kick off in November with "Razor," an extended two-hour episode, with the rest of the season slated to run beginning in early 2008.

The upcoming fourth season of Sci Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" will be its final one after all.

After months of speculation, the show's producers are set to make the announcement at a press conference Friday.

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," Eick and Moore said in a statement Thursday. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there -- we're going out with a bang."

With LOST slated to wrap after two more seasons, the Shield ending soon and 24 looking like it's "jumping the shark". I should be TV free in no time. I'll have to go back and watch Prison Break (if the ever put the second season out on DVD) and Heroes from Netflix. My Netflix is going to get a workout.

OPEN!

That's Right! The Pool is OPEN!

Despite a shaky start, the pool is open. When the cover tore in three places this winter, I knew it was going to be a battle to open this thing. Hence, I started early. A few weeks ago, I wrestled the cover off.

Step 1 - Remove Cover
Step 2 - Look In Pool To Assess Damage
Step 3 - Shake Head
Step 4 - Spend Money At The Pool Store
Step 5 - Have Wife Come Home And Say "You Did It By Yourself Again?"
Step 6 - Go To The Chiropractor

But I digress. . .

I dumped 5 gallons of liquid chlorine in. . .wait. . .an entire bottle of Algaecide. .. wait. . . .vacuum. . .flush. . .vacuum. . .shock. . . vacuum

The following couple days was just looking at the shadows on the bottom and thinking "Hmmm, there are no clouds in the sky to make those shadows." You see some Algae is stronger than others. What's a guy to do? With a pool, when in doubt add more liquid chlorine. 10 more gallons. WA & LA! Clean, except for the liner that isn't in the water. Back to the store to check the Alkaline and the Ph levels and we're done. But wait. . When my wife takes a water sample to the store, the girls tells her that she can't add the alkaline and the ph because there is too much chlorine (as if you can have too much chlorine). "Your water is like acid." And she says it like it's a bad thing.

With the children safety on my mind, I ask "Will it remove my tattoo?" No? We're going in!

Now our levels are perfect and the tattoo is still there:

It's time for a swim.

Note: My garden is starting to sprout too.

Badger's Journey Is Complete!

Like Luke Skywalker's journey toward the darkside, the Badger's (my brother) journey toward the darkside will be complete in September when THIS comes out:

For those who don't know anything about hockey, this is Wayne Gretzky. Todd McFarlane has been putting out hockey figures for years. This guy has been passed around from team to team almost as much as Mike Sillinger. It took years for Todd to cover every team this scrub has been on. I mean, Vinnie will tell ya, Zetterberg's on;y been on one team. This guy has been passed around more than Wyatt's highschool girlfriend.

Speaking of Wyatt, what could be better than a Winnipeg Jets McFarlane figure. Winnipeg. . . .Old School.
